History

We are privileged and proud, as lady members of Pinheiros Altos Golf Club, to be one of the few golf club in the Algarve to have our own section with guaranteed starting times each Wednesday morning - "Ladies Day".

At the invitation of the proprietors, the Ladies Section was formally inaugurated in 1998, following the official opening of the Club in 1992, with our first Lady Captain Thérèse van Doorn and her Committee at the helm.

Since then it has developed into an enviable active Ladies Section and we now have more than 80 lady members who enjoy the various social events and five specific Ladies Trophy competitions, as well as enjoying all the other Club competitions and events that takes place throughout the year.
